Wanderlodge M380 -- Standard and Optional Features

LIVING FEATURES

Unfortunately, due to family health (we are in our 80s) the time has come for us to pass this great motorhome on to another.

We originally priced it at $150,000 based on the fact that at double or triple that price you could not find a better-quality motorhome. In fact, if you bought a brand new motorhome for a million dollars you could not purchase a better built motorhome than a Bluebird Wanderlodge. Don't take my word for this, Google it.

It is a true bus, steel with aluminum siding built by the Blue Bird Bus Company in Fort Valley, GA. Since 1927 they are the leading manufacturer of safety-first school buses; you've likely seen them around for years.

To quote others. "This is an excellent example of what a coach should be. Forget about riding around in a bouncy fiberglass RV. This is a real bus with higher safety standards than a Prevost, Newell and Van Hool. The Bluebird Wanderlodge was historically overbuilt." It was reportedly owned by royalty like King Hussein of Jordan and movie stars like John Wayne and Michael Landon. The M380 is the perfect size, large enough to comfortably live aboard and small enough to get into almost every campground.

The original owner our Coach was a very wealthy businessman who also owned a Prevost and a Newell in addition to an airplane and two large yachts (one 70 feet and another over 100 feet). Our M380 was built as a show coach and he purchased it at an RV show, stored it inside and had it professionally maintained. My wife and I purchased it from him when it was only four years old and have owned it ever since.

Over the years it was rare that we were at a campground and an owner of another brand coach didn't come over to admire the M380, even on occasion saying they should have purchased one rather than the brand new million-dollar plus motorhome they had. I've heard this same story from other Wanderlodge owners too.

Our Coach has always been professionally maintained and serviced. We have the receipts.

There is also an on-line group (the Wanderlodge Owners Group WOG) of fellow Bluebird owners who can help you maintain your coach better than any dealer or manufacturer. The value they provide is enough reason to own a Bluebird motorcoach.

Additional features that make this coach a bargain at the price being offered:

  1. Brand new still in manufacturer's wrapping, front and rear replacement slide seals. You will eventually need these. Without them you will have a no-slide coach and the manufacturer will only produce others with a minimum of ten orders; a group of us got together and ordered them.

  1. A brand-new Rixen's hydronic furnace heating system to replace the original Hurricane one. Parts cost almost $9,000 and retrofit and installation thousands more. It provides endless hot water and interior heating with a new control panel inside the coach for all functions; a major improvement over the original one. I love taking long steaming hot showers.

  1. Three Samson TV's: Livingroom/kitchen; Bedroom; and pull out one on a fully articulating arm in one of the bays for outdoor viewing.

  1. A Winegard Travler Direct TV roof mounted satellite dish plus an additional Winegard Carryout G3 portable, auto satellite finding dish, for use when roof mounted one is blocked by trees. You have multiple ways to get TV reception: Satellite, over the air antenna, campground cable and streaming.

  1. Sea Level Tank Monitoring System. A big improvement over the original system.

  1. New single valve shower control (pull out for on, turn for hot/cold, push in for off) a big improvement over the original one; my wife hated the original one.

  1. The sofa was recovered with Ultra leather to match the other seats; the original one was covered in fabric.

  1. The Coach comes fully stocked with everything you need including the following. (Just bring food and clothing)

Two brand-new zero gravity recliners; the tags are still on them.

Outside tables

Tools and spare parts

Extra oil and radiator fluid

Cleaning supplies for both inside and outside of coach including a high-speed wheel buffer.

Two specialty ladders, one a fold up A frame and a telescoping one.

Lots of silverware and kitchen gadgets

Keurig coffee maker

French press coffee maker with electric tea kettle

Dishes, glasses, bowls, place setting etc.

Fully stocked medicine and first aid drawer

Stocked wine draw.

Several high-quality bed sheets and pillows plus a comforter.

New slim powerful vacuum cleaner with power floor attachment.

  1. Lots more equipment and upgrades I just can remember them all, but as we go through the coach, I'll point them out.

  1. The engine and generator were serviced by Cummins with only 12 hours on the engine and less on the generator since.

  1. All new GPL-4DAP Lifeline batteries for the house and GlP-317 for the generator: Two starter batteries; three house and one generator installed at the end of April 2024 by Colton RV at a cost of over $3,000. Plus two separate built in battery charger/minders.

  1. Price includes a full tank of diesel (that's $1,000 at local prices- we always keep it full). Also available at an additional price, a freshly serviced low-milage Mercedes M-320 SUV all-wheel drive with off-road tires (only 2,000 miles on them) and a low/low gearing switch for those real off-the-road needs. It is the last Mercedes that could be towed four wheels down. We are the original owners (have the records) and have towed it behind the coach for years without any problems. Fly in, hook up the Mercedes to the coach and drive off.

  1. The Coach and engine were recently checked out by Colton Truck and RV and both are in excellent condition. I have the invoice. It is now at Signature Coachworks in Beaumont, CA detailed and stored inside.
